Hello, my name is Dev and I'm speaking to you live from Kuala Lumpur. Welcome and thank you for joining us in yet another series of teleseminars. Today we’re going to speak about the subject on goals - the blueprint for life.
Just as every house needs a blueprint... every house needs a blueprint, everybody’s life needs a blueprint so that they can plan their life. The blueprints are like the blueprints of a building. Without a blueprint, you cannot lead your life. This is what we’d like to speak to you about today and in the next 3 sessions. We’re going to start today with Part 1, which is choosing the goal. The WHAT - which is the first level of creation. The second session is on claiming the goal - the WHY. It is about how to attract resources for your goals. And the third session is on the HOW - connecting with your goal, how to manifest your desires in the physical realities. I would like you to join me on a step-by-step journey to design the blueprint for your life in all 8 areas of your life. As I said earlier, this is a 3-part series and today is the first in the 3-part series, and today we’re going to talk about the WHAT. You’re going to choose the goals. There are 3 levels of creation and the first level of creation is deciding what it is that you want, and hence, the first session on deciding the goals that you want. There are 8 areas of life and we need to have goals in all 8 areas of life so that we can have a balanced life. Now, if you were to refer to the handout that was given to you - the free download handout - which is the pre-work for today’s session, if you’re here with me, you’ll find on page 7, you’ll find the goals in all 8 areas of your life to help you create your goals book. Why are we doing goals? Because the first goal in life is to have a goal. Because goals give direction, goals give a purpose, goals give a reason for us to live a meaningful... yet another meaningful year. As stated in the pre-work, before you begin the pre-work, which I hope you’ve done now, I’d like you to sit down, take 3 deep breaths, exhale slowly. Relax and begin focusing on your own breathing for a while so that we can get inner directed. So that you can get centred. Slowly, lightly, relaxing... and you should begin to become more conscious of your breathing. You will connect with yourself better. The goals are about you. Goals are about your life. Goals are about the future that you care creating. It is, thus, has been said that the best way to predict your future is to create it. And goal is one avenue by which you can create your future. You can predict your future by writing down the goals that you’re about to write down. Now, those of you who would have done the pre-work by now... if you have not, I would encourage you to do that so that when we go through the session, it would be so much more easier for you because you already have goals pre-determine because you’re going to learn the process. It makes no sense to learn the process if don’t have anything to achieve by this process. You will need this pre-work, the assignment that has been given to you for the "Blueprint for Life", for this teleseminar on goals. I will also ask you if you know a friend or a family member who seems lost, aimless, disappointed in their life, or maybe with their jobs, and they seem down and depressed. Well, please get them to attend this "Blueprint for Life". If they're not on listening today, please let them know so that they can come back and listen to the recording, and of course, it’s for free. And if you do that, this may just be the best thing that you have ever done for someone - help them. If you need more information, please email us or call us, so that we can help you or your friend to get more clarity as to what life is all about. A lot of disillusionment comes because people have no clarity in their life. They have no idea where they're going in life. They have no direction. Life seems meaningless. Life just seems like a... just a long, aimless journey, not knowing where the destination is. Because there's a great difference between a meaningful specific and being a wondering generality.
A wondering generality is someone who has no direction, who doesn’t know what he wants out of life. One day is no different from the other for that person. On the other hand, a meaningful specific is someone who is inner-directed, who knows what he wants and goes for it. He can’t wait to wake up in the morning so that he can do something to which, to get closer towards his goal. And he can’t wait to go to sleep so that he can start the next day fresh, faster. That brings meaning and purpose to life - to wake up to a goal every day. To be reaching out for a goal, to be achieving something. Now, many of you would know that I had the great privilege and opportunity to work with Bob Proctor, the guru of gurus. I also had the privilege to work with his assistant, John Canary. And I remember a time when we were doing a goal session and there was an elderly gentleman who seemed to be the only person who was not writing a goal. And John walked up to him and said, "Sir, why aren’t you writing a goal?" He said, "Well, I'm 75." John said, "So what?" "I don’t see the point. What's the point? Sir, I'm 75!", the man told John, "If I write this goal and it takes me 10 years to achieve the goal." John said, "So?" He said, "Well, I’ll be 85!" And John said, "Well, that's right. If you set a goal and the goal takes 10 years, you will be 85." And John asked him, "If you don’t write a goal, if you don’t set a goal, how old will you be in 10 years? That's right - you’ll still be 85 but without a goal achieved." So if he were to write a goal, no matter how old he is, in 10 years time he will be 85 with a goal achieved. And of course, being the smart Alec, he said, "But John, what if I die before I'm 85?" And John said something so wise, he said, "Sir, then every single day of your life, you will wake up with a reason. You will wake up with a purpose. Every single day that you will live will have a meaning and purpose because you will be waking up to get closer towards achieving your goal. Every single day, you will wake up with a reason to do something to achieve your goal, which means every single day of your life would be a meaningful day because there’ll be a reason for each day. Because you’ll be doing something to get closer towards your goal and there is no more meaning and purpose in life than to be doing that every single day of your life. If you die before 85, you would’ve lived the rest of your days of your life with more purpose and meaning than 90% of all the people on earth."
So that's the reason why goals are important. Now, if you’re having your handout with you - the one that we asked you to download so that you could do your pre-work. Incidentally, we have also put online the entire workbook, the entire action manual for the 3 sessions. After listening to this session, I would like you to come back to the site and you will find a workbook, an action manual, for these 3 session: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3, which is over and above the pre-work. So the pre-work is for free because we want you to come prepared. There is an action manual on site. After listening to his session, come back to this session and you’ll find the manual, action manual, and it’s made available to you for a very nominal fee. And I’d like you to download that and then go through this session again because I am going to go through this action manual that you can download later on, after this session. So which means, now you may just want to listen to it, and after this session you’re going to come back to this session and download that action manual for Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3, and then go through this entire session all over again with the manual in hand. That will give a lot more depth to this session and you will be able to understand this session at a much more deeper level. I am now going to refer to the action manual, on which you will come back and download for a nominal fee. And this action manual is divided into 3 parts. Part 1, which is choosing the goal. Part 2, which is claiming the goal. And Part 3, connecting with the goal. So I am now going to take you through some introductions from the manual which you at this point may not have downloaded. Yes, I understand that you have got the pre-work but I'm now talking about the action manual that you will download later on. It starts off on page 23. As soon as you get that, you will be on page 23 with me, and it says "Introduction to Goals". And the first thing that we speak about on page 23 is success. Now, why do we start with success? Because success... when you have achieved all of your goals or any one of these goals, you will achieving success. So it makes sense that the first thing that we need to do is we need to define success because if we do not know how success looks like, then even if we arrive at success, we would not have recognised success. Conversely, if we do not know how success looks like, then you could not move on to success. You could not arrive at success, you could not move towards success because you have no idea how success looks like. For that matter, we want to start off by talking a little bit about this thing called success. There are many definitions of success. The most widely accepted definition of success is by Ralph Waldo Emerson - 100 years ago, he said, "Success is the progressive realisation of a worthy ideal."
