Hello, and welcome to our teleseminar on psycho-cybernetics - the one prime cause for all success and failure. If you have just joined us and come online, please refer to the links indicated on the webcast page - and that’s the page you are on right now - and look at the bottom of the right hand side and you will see "Download Workbook". So please click that to download your worksheet, with which you’re going to follow me through in this teleseminar.
Hello again. If you are ready, we are about to start in the next 10 seconds. I hope you have downloaded the workbook - the worksheet that we are going to be using for today’s teleseminar. Hello. My name is Dev. I am speaking to you live from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I have the great fortune and rare privilege to work with the world authority on how the mind works, Bob Proctor. You would know him from the phenomenal runaway bestseller DVD, "The Secret". As you may know, Bob Proctor is one of the main features on "The Secret". I would like to welcome you on this series of teleseminars. Today’s session is session number 5 in a series of six. If you’re wondering, allow me to update you on our earlier teleseminars. This six series of teleseminars are from September to December, 2008. The first session, teleseminar 1, was held on 24 September, 2008. It was entitled "Awaken Your Mind Power". We went on to do teleseminar 2 on 8 October entitled "GOALS - Why Goal Setting Sucks!". And we had the third teleseminar, which is interview 1, "An Enlightening Evening with Master Coach Dev" - that was on 22 October, 2008. The previous teleseminar, number 4, was "The Secret Unplugged - The Secret Behind the Secret" which was on the 12 November, which brings us the fifth in a series of six teleseminars. Today’s session is "Psycho-Cybernetics - The One Prime Cause for All Success And Failure", which leaves us with one last session for this series, which is teleseminar 6, which is an interview - that will be the second interview, "An Extreme Evening with Master Coach Dev". And during this interview, I will be having a guest of honour, Mr. Vijay. I will tell you some more details about him, and of course, those of you who were with us on teleseminar 3, the first interview, you would’ve been familiar by now with our very lively and jovial and yet very powerful interviewer, Rishi, who is also known as The Flying Singh. And he will join us again on this sixth teleseminar. Now, if you have missed out on any of our earlier teleseminars, and if you are wondering how you can have access to them, I suggest you listen to those earlier teleseminar recordings, and if you’d like to do that, please refer to the link indicated on the webcast page - that's the page you are on right now. And you will see, on the right hand corner, you’ll see the word "Previous Teleseminars". So click where it says "Previous Teleseminars" and you will have access to the previous seminars that we had in a series of six. With that, I would like to welcome you to this morning’s session, psycho-cybernetics. Dear listeners, have you ever felt that the things that you want to do and the things that you really feel like doing are vastly different? Remember the fourteenth time that you tried to stick to a diet? The fifth time that you tried to quit smoking? The eighth time you tried waking up at six in the morning for your exercise? I could go on but you know absolutely what I'm talking about. Now, do you wonder why do you do what you do? Why don’t you do what you want to do? And how you could get yourself to do what you want to do in order to have massive success in your life? There is one prime cause for all success and failure, and this cause is the reason why we can’t get whatever it is that we want. Whatever it is that we want to do, why is it that we don’t do it?
This one prime cause is psycho-cybernetics. It is the reason, the cause for everything that happens in our life and also everything that does not happen in our life. So join us in this session on psycho-cybernetics based on Dr. Maxwell Morse’s bestseller, "Psycho-Cybernetics" and this... the understanding of this psycho-cybernetic mechanism will impact every area of your life. Now, if you’re ready, I'm ready, so let’s get cracking. Let’s start... now, if you have just joined me, I’d like to just remind you, you can go to the link on this page, at the bottom right hand corner and please click on where it says "Download Workbook". You will get a worksheet with which you can follow me through for the rest of this session. Those of you who are downloading the worksheet, I’ll just give you a minute to do so right now. And for those of you who have your worksheet with you, please follow me through as I go through this session with you so that you and I can be together, going through the session and you will know exactly where I am. Alright, we’ll start with the introduction. Let’s talk a little bit about Dr. Maxwell Morse. Dr. Maxwell Morse was a plastic surgeon. He’s a very famous plastic surgeon in the early 1960s and as he did constructive surgery, reconstructive surgery, he found that the results, the outcomes of his surgery as far as the people were concerned and their emotional state was inconsistent. He will do a surgery on someone and that someone would feel so good because they look much better now. And then he would do a surgery on another person. Although the person look much better but he didn’t feel that he look much better. Some even felt they look uglier even though physically they did look better. Some patients of his, after going through a surgery didn’t look any better. As a matter of fact, they may even look worse but they thought they look better. So Dr. Maxwell Morse, looking at his array of patients could not ascertain why is it that some people felt much better, some didn’t, some felt no difference. And he... and he realised that it wasn’t how they look. He realised there must be something or someone or someplace somewhere inside of them that decides, that determines whether they look better or not - whether they felt better about themselves or not. So it wasn’t how they look, but there was something else inside of them that told them, that decided for them whether they look better or not. It decided for them whether they look better or not. So how they look didn’t really matter because there is something inside of them telling, deciding on their behalf, for them. And he said, I couldn’t define what is it. It is in a person’s personality that decides that. Who is it? What is it that decides, makes this decision? And where is it? So he set on a quest looking for it and he did discover it. And he named it psycho-cybernetic - that's the juice of his book – and today we’re going to look at what is psycho-cybernetic. What is the prime cause for all success and failure? What is this one thing that decides if we succeed or whether we fail, which gives us positive self-image of ourselves or a self-image of doom and gloom. What is it that decides this? Where is it located? So what is it that we can do once we know where it is? How do we work with it once we know how it functions? So that was the gist of Maxwell Morse’s studies. And I would like to share with you today what the psycho-cybernetic is, how we can work with it and use it to change the results in our daily life. Many people have attempted to explain this phenomenon of psycho-cybernetics but very few have succeeded so that the layman can understand.
Now, my master, Bob Proctor - from the famed "The Secret" DVD - he teaches it better than any man alive. As a matter of fact, I think his explanation a lot easier to grasp and understand that Maxwell Morse’s himself, because Bob Proctor, his explanation is geared towards the understanding of the layman. So that any man with basic education can understand, not having read the book could understand what the psycho-cybernetic mechanism is, how they could work with it, and how they could use it to change the results in their life. I want to share with you from Bob Proctor’s perspective, the way that Bob has been teaching it for the last 40 years. He’s probably the preeminent authority on how the mind works and he, of course, has one of the easiest ways to understand how the mind works. He has been accredited to be one of the greatest authorities on the mind, and to be able to teach it in such a simple manner that any man could understand it. Let’s start by looking at the definitions of psycho-cybernetics. Psycho-cybernetics is the science of control and communication in animals and some machines. It is based on the fact that both biological and some machines have sensors that measure deviations from a set goal. The sensors signal feedback into our _______ mechanism - that's our nervous system - which corrects the output or behaviour - that's our performance. Now, I really wonder if you know what that really means in English. So I'm going to do here is explain to you... rather than trying to explain the practical terminologies, I’ll to take a different road. I'm going to explain to you by giving some examples so that you understand the working of it in real world. Let’s say, for example... Let’s you are in a room and the temperature of the room was set... the air conditioning in the room is set at 26o and let’s say the temperature now is 26o because that's the air that's been put into the room, making the temperature 26o. And let’s say now somebody walks in from outside, opening the door, and it’s a very hot day. And the hot air rushes into the room and raising the temperature from 26 to maybe 30o, which become rather hot. There is a psycho-cybernetic mechanism in the air conditioning system called the thermostat. And this thermostat will measure the deviation from the set course, from the set point 26o. It is going to measure the deviation of the set point 26o and it’s going to shoot in more cool air into the room so that the temperature rises up back to 26 and it stays at 26. It must come back at 26 because it has been set to 26. Let’s say now it’s another day and it’s set at 26 and it’s just nice and pleasant and somebody comes in from the outside and it’s very cold outside. And cold wind rushes in from the outside, lowering the temperature from 26 to may be 22o. And the psycho-cybernetic mechanism in the air conditioning system known as the thermostat measures the deviation from the set point of 26. It shoots hot air into the room, raising back the temperature to 26 and when it reaches 26, it stops and the room continues to be 26. Now, the reason why you cannot deviate from the set point whether it’s higher or lower is because it is determined by the set course, and in this case, the set point is 26. The psycho-cybernetic mechanism once set in place, if it deviates from it, the mechanism has a self-correcting system bringing it back to the point where it was set because it was governed by the psycho-cybernetic mechanism as in the air conditioning system - the thermostat.
